Thunderbird Once Again?

Rather than starting with a base photo for this 2015 Thunderbird, I used a black Sharpie and did a quick sketch on paper. Then I scanned the illustration and "played" with it in Photoshop to work it up. This Thunderbird would be a 4-seat personal luxury sport coupe to pick up where the 1971s left off. Power would come from an EcoBoost family V6s with hybrid assist. Rear-wheel drive biased all-wheel drive standard. Aerodynamics would be managed extremely well with a cd in the low .20s.

This is different! It seems like a sketch that a head designer would give to the new guy and say: See what you can do with this. A new Thunderbird with some references to the mid-sixties or is that my imagination?

Casey,This is cool ! First I think what Bob said about the sketch itself is rite on and the concept is great! Ive been bitching about the 02 retro,Nissan Figaro inspired , TBird long enough!
This direction ,hinting of The Birds "personal Luxery" heyday is rite on! Sure would be fun to see skirts on a new car! More fun Casey designs for '13 !!!!! Marty

This is a blog that showcases my digitally altered"fake" cars, as well as my love of all things automotive. I collect "toy" cars, car magazines and original dealer literature. I've photographed vintage cars for most of my life. In the past I've owned a '64 Thunderbird, a '68 Sedan de Ville, an '83 Riviera and an '85 Town Car, all great cars in their own ways. From the time I was five years old all I really wanted to do was design cars, but I instead earned my bachelor of arts from Vassar College. I've worked as a designer in the field of publishing for more than thirty years. I'm a freelance book designer these days, but I spend more time than I should in Photoshop® "pretending" to live that childhood dream.
