2014 Regal Century coupe

It's time there was a coupe in the Buick showrooms. Or five! I'd like to see two door versions of the Verano, Regal and LaCrosse and a new dedicated sports coupe. Buick showrooms should also offer a choice of front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive platforms. Above, is my Regal Century coupe. I've slightly reproportioned the entire body. Notably I've reduced the front overhang and extended the wheelbase in front of the windshield, hinting at its newfound rear-wheel drive setup, and massaged the roofline and greenhouse. The famed Buick "sweepspear" is now an angular indentation shadowing the window space above it.

Other possible new Buick coupes from artandcolour:

Skyhawk, RWD 2-seat GT hatchback

LaCrosse Centurion, AWD luxury 5-seat coupe

Regal GS, FWD 4-seat coupe

Verano Apollo GS, AWD turbo hatchback coupe

These rock! I love the chrome above the tailites on the Apollo,I also think the Skyhawk is 99 percent perfect(I'd like to see the front fender ornaments follow the sculpture like a '69 Electra) It looks like you have rendered these coupes with the "B"pillars under the glass as all black pillars should be. I think Bill Michell would turn over in his grave if he saw all of the modern cars with flat black pillars stuck on the outside at eye level. They dont make my eye think they are not there, instead they look like a chassis part thrown up on the side of the car LOL Marty

    1. great analogy, Marty! To say nothing of some matte black trim panels' propensity to turn oddly iridescent, like older Mercedes models. I'd love to see an artful form of chrome trim make a comeback. It could be inlaid into the sheetmetal so it looked like cloisonne jewelry.

  2. Well, you've been a busy boy! All of these are wonderful and, as you know, I've been eager for a new Riviera which could be the dedicated sports coupe you reference. It's hard to pick a favorite from these but I am drawn to the LaCrosse. Great work!!

  3. Terrific stuff! Every one of them. My favorite of the group is the Skyhawk - great roofline - but they are all handsome cars. Thanks.

    1. thanks, Woody! I think it looks like it could be a 3-series competitor... maybe build it on the ATS platform...

  5. I love the old Skyhawks and I think your illustration looks awesome. Do you have any renderings of the front and back? Curious as to what you would work up for that.

Thanks for choosing the Skyhawk for an upgraded/reimagined treatment. Buick needs to get the ball moving. I would love to actually own one of those!!
