My take on the recent "sharkfin" floating roof pillar treatments, as seen on this 4-passenger Ferrari FF variant. The A pillar and roof rails, as well as the top part of the C pillar, are polished unpainted aluminum. Taken as a whole with the body color lower C pillar and beveled glass side windows, the profile of a classic barchetta are revealed in this taller, more upright "family" Ferrari.
Very interesting design, a lot of slits and gills on this Alps minded super car, casey style. I'm wondering if this would have made sense if it existed as Maserati Bora instead.
ReplyDeletegood for your for remembering the Bora and its polished aluminum roof, or was it stainless steel? That was a gorgeous car.
ReplyDeleteFrom this angle, it reminds me a lot of the Jensen Interceptor of the 70s (I think someone might still be making them, shades of the Avanti II). There was a four-wheel drive version of the the Interceptor that used FF in the name, if I remember correctly.

yes, the Interceptor FF! I thought about that when Ferrari revealed the name FF. I think it stood for Ferguson Four wheel drive, or something like that. The hoods were longer and there were two front fender vents per side on those Interceptors. Beautiful cars!
