- Note. I no longer have a computer with Photoshop on it so I'm not going to be able to do any more work like this in the foreseeable future. I will update this blog for awhile with some of my older chops, but I apologize in advance for the lack of any new pieces. Thank you to everyone who checks in here regularly. It's been quite fun to make these for you and to read your comments.

2015 Cadillac Flagship. XTS-L? Fleetwood?
Perhaps my recent Buick Limited's corporate cousin could be this Cadillac RWD sedan. I'm calling it "the flagship" but only because I really can't decide if it's a Fleetwood or an XTS-L. Cadillac is working on such a car right now under the name of LTS but that sounds more like a Chevrolet to me. Anyway, this chop is a relatively basic one. Basically, I pushed and pulled the pixels of the original XTS concept, the Platinum, to make it a long hood/short deck "proper" Cadillac sedan. I also swapped in the new wreathe-less Caddy logo. My jury is still out on the look of the new logo, but it's growing on me. I've seen spyshots of the new "LTS" and it won't be using the rear quarter windows I've included in the door. It seems it will have an extended version of the 6-windowXTS styling. I just hope it doesn't look too "fastback-y." I hope they field a proper 3-box sedan.

I like the new 'Fleetwood' a lot. The wheels help make it. Kudos.
ReplyDeleteOne of the hard things about getting older is missing the things that you love that no longer are available. The things and people that make up the fabric of our lives go by the wayside to be replaced by by newer and most often lesser items. The anticipation of accessing your site to catch the latest creation has been a true joy for me for several years. The news that it will be lost is very sad. I hope that it is temporary and short lived. Regardless I wish you the best and want to thank you for lots of enjoyable moments in 'What If' land.

Thank you Bob. It hasn't been a good few months for me. I haven't worked in a few months and will probably lose my apartment sooner rather than later. Haven't been able to pay rent for 2 months now. No savings. Have no idea what I'll do or where I'll end up. It's been fun creating these cars for you and everyone. Maybe something positive will happen but I'm not counting on it. As you say, as we get older, things change and in my experience, it just keeps getting worse and worse. Thank you for all of you very positive feedback these past few years. It has really meant a lot to me. -casey
DeleteI am really sorry to hear about your situation. I feel kind of helpless. Life certainly has a way of showing us what is important doesn’t it? Hopefully your situation will improve shortly. I don't have any other digital only friends. It's kind of awkward. If you have any need to 'talk' my e-mail is: bf3915rexmere@yahoo.com. I may not be able to help but I can 'listen' which sometimes is a help of sorts. Good luck.

Very sorry to hear the troubles. I'm late to the party for these auto-chops in just beginning to create my own a few short months ago. Your amazing images have been a great inspiration for me to match this quality of work someday in my own auto-chops and other digital artwork.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your return...

Thank you Dan for the very kind words! And the only way to get better is to work, work, work in Photoshop. Make it a constant and you'll realize your skills are improving without thinking about it. All the best luck in the future!
DeleteI like what you did with the Cadillac "Fleetwood." Your work is really creative, I'm sorry to hear your situation won't make it possible to continue at this time.
DeleteI feel your pain. I was laid off in June and it isn't easy starting over at my age (55). Love your work and I send my best and hope to see more of your cars. --Don
ReplyDeleteI check in every once in a while to see if there is any change. I thought you might re-write the text or something. No such luck. About the time I start to feel sorry for myself, my good angel reminds me that you are in a position much worse than mine. I'm looking forward to someday seeing new entries realising that things have to get much better for you before that can happen. I hope things improve soon. Know that there are folks wishing the best for you.

I had been not feeling well this past entire week...probably irritating my co-workers and roommates with my health complaints. I was finally off for an entire day and just resting and relaxing...and ran across this amazing & talented Casey/artandcolour site. I love it. And so sorry to just read that our host is down and out. You are already missed. I can't imagine that you aren't getting paid for using your talent (and I am not talking about photoshoppin) I am speaking of you as and automotive artist. I certainly do hope you land on your feet and get back to us out here who really appreciate your creativity. We GET IT !! Please take care and get back at the drawing board. My best to you.

I would love to see you transform a Transit Connect into a pickup truck and post it over on Blue Oval news...the boys over there are clamoring for a Ranchero-esque take on a current product and I love the work you do.
ReplyDeleteI sit here warm and dry (its pouring outside) wondering about you. What has happened to you in the past month? Hopefully you haven't moved to Panama or were forced to live under an overpass. I just spent 15 minutes perusing your '68 Cadillac Brochure probably for the fourth time. It occured to me that you might be able to update your fans with your situation. If you can ad text to your past chops maybe you could describe your thought process or how your might change it today. I hope things improve for you.

I just read this last night on my iphone. Waited to get on the computer today to send my regards and hope things are going better? Such talent needs to be employed! Best Wishes for the New Year. Let us know how things are going.
ReplyDeleteHope things have improved. Such talent should be recognized! I'd hope a car magazine would employ you! Best wishes for a better 2014!
ReplyDeleteYou have great vision and good ideas keep it up. Because I tell you what this is a car GM needs just like Lincoln needs your envisioned new town car as well. that MKT hearse looking thing was the worst.
