2015 Buick Limited

Buick's new flagship could be this Limited, a RWD-based AWD sedan with a long 125" wheelbase comparable to the German LWB sedans. Taking a page from the Lexus salesbook from 1990, this is an S-Class sized car for the price of an E-Class. I'd envision it with a Twin-Turbo V6 in both gas- and diesel-powered versions.

  1. I love the concept of a big Buick sedan to compete with the German luxury cars at a much lower price. Maybe take a page from Honda when they introduced the Accord. Everything standard, no options. I love the shape and the chrome trim does a great job of emphasizing the length.
Monday morning quarterbacking is a lot easier than Sunday afternoon play. I would prefer the tail lights to extend to the license, change the 'cruiserline ventiports' to actual vents in the body and finally slant the trailing edge of front and rear wheel openings, ala the classic Skylark of the fifties and the Regal GNX. Changes designed to establish or reinforce Buick styling cues. Sorry. I guess I think I can always 'improve' designs.

  2. Petrolicious has a short article about Pontiac ads from the 60's and 70's by Art Fitzpatrick and Van Kaufman. Nice stuff. I though you and your viewers might enjoy.

  3. That last comment got me thinking. When was the last time you did a Pontiac, or even thought of one? It might be a great 'what if'. What would a 2015 Pontiac look like or how should the last GTO look like if you designed it? Fun to think about.

  4. Buick wants a Panamera lookalike not a formal sedan. I prefer the formal look. Buick waits too long to do anything relevant. Case in point why so long a wait for the mid-size SUV that I need ? China gets it first and we may not. Buick has to share a Cadillac platform for a sedan. And can we have a high sedan I can get into easily ? One with a real protective side molding that no one has anymore. Is anybody listening ? Take a look at the Chinese market Buick Park Avenue. Now that's a car. Can we buy it here ? Of course not.
